There was once an old woman. But thou hast surely seen an old woman go a-begging before now? This woman begged likewise and when she got anything she said, “May God reward you.” The beggar woman came to a door, and there by the fire, A friendly rogue of a boy was standing warming himself. The boy said kindly to the poor old woman as she was shivering thus by the door, “Come, come, old mother and warm yourself.” She came in but stood too near the fire, So that her old rags began to burn. And she was not aware of it. The boy stood and saw that But he ought to have put the flames out. And if he could not find any water then should he have wept All the water in his body out of his eyes, And that would have supplied two fine streams With which to extinguish them.

If I could just see your face in the moonlight, then I could fly from this place into your arms of might. Help my spirit take flight, to your place in the sky. If I could just hold your hand in the sunlight, then I would not be afraid to walk the shadow-lands. Give me strength for the fight for your kingdom in the sky if I could hold your hand in the sunlight. Oh, I can’t comprehend the wonder of your love. Yet when the night is long, I’ll search the stars above, For a glimmer of your smile and to hear your voice within the wind. I can sense your presence here beside me now. And with the spirit-call comes the promise of a brand new dawn! If I could just see your face in the moonlight, then I could fly from this place into your arms of might. Help my spirit take flight, to your place in the sky. If I could see your face in the moonlight.
