ESOTERICA invites the listener to journey through arcane mists of time and diverse worlds of sound. From one of Wallin Huff’s earliest works, “Pegasus,” to her latest work, “Weeping Willow,” this album is woven together from the threads of intimate chamber music, sweeping orchestral works, and even some modern electronica. With “Now Winter Nights Enlarge,” a scene of bacchanal youth during Wintertime Festivities excites the imagination, while “Christmas Wayfarer” follows original adaptations of traditional winter carols across a thrilling journey across the world. “Wings of the Four Seasons” retells a traditional Japanese tale by way of treble-and-alto string trio; “Butterfly Lullaby” soothes troubled nightmares with the Native American symbolism of the butterfly as bringer of Hope; “Introit” and “Song of the Golden Spiral” transport to alternate planes of reality entirely. A mystical aura breathes throughout ESOTERICA, surrounding the spirit with wonder. ... more

I see your smile, the look in your eyes, I hear your whisper through the trees. I hardly know how far to go. But I know with you by my side, it's all right. So take my hand and run with me Across the fields of endless green; I wait for you, blinded with hope. Someday, find me there. ...Blinded by the hope of my heart, Innocence flowers. Watch through the night 'til dawn's first light, See me approach 'cross the sea of your soul. I hardly know how far to go. But I know with you by my side, it's all right. So, come take my hand, and brave life's great storm. Come, run with the wind; Light in the face of the Dark, we rise... Above all concern; Beauty for pain, Count the cost and take the road before us anew. I see your smile, the look in your eyes. You wonder, is this meant to be? I hardly know how far we'll go. But I know with you by my side, we're all right. It's right, this design. Find me here.
Now winter nights enlarge The number of their hours; And clouds their storms discharge Upon the airy towers. Let now the chimneys blaze And cups o’erflow with wine, Let well-turned words amaze With harmony divine. Now yellow waxen lights Shall wait on honey love While youthful revels, masques, and courtly sights Sleep’s leaden spells remove. This time doth well dispense With lovers’ long discourse; Much speech hath some defense, Though beauty no remorse. All do not all things well; Some measures comely tread, Some knotted riddles tell, Some poems smoothly read. The summer hath his joys, And winter his delights; Though love and all his pleasures are but toys, They shorten tedious nights.
Take this Butterfly, Bye-Bye, Sweet Child; Embrace her comfort as her wings brush against your skin. And with your breath whisper a wish into her ear; She'll make no sound but trust it only to Heav'n. Dance beneath the moon; Bye-Bye, Sweet Child. His guardian light embraces all of the earth and sky. And as you lay your heavy head upon your bed, the Butterfly will bring your dreams while you sleep. Though sorrow looms, be not afraid; Time will prove true. Shake the dust from your wings; Give thanks for life's renewal! Behold the Morning Star breaks forth. Fare thee well, Sweet Child. And with the dawn, ancestral spirits smile down on you. Sleep well and dream the Dream of Hope, Bye-Bye, Sweet Child. Butterflies will greet you when you wake. Your butterfly shall meet you when you awake.
Verbo dicam: Si nos servaremus in necesariis Unitatem, In dubiis Libertatem, in omnibus Charitatem, optimo certe loco essent res nostrae. O quam cito transit gloria mundi. In necesariis Unitatem, in dubiis Libertatem, in omnibus Caritas, Caritas, ...in omnibus Caritas, optimo certe Loco essent res nostrae. Mysterium fideii. Fideii.... Mysterium... [Translation] In a word, let me say: if we might keep in necessary things Unity, in unnecessary (doubtful) things Freedom, and in both (everything) Charity, our affairs would certainly be in the best condition. ...How quickly the glory of the world passes away. ... Mystery of faith.
