Wallin Huff composed this work in only two days, as a last minute addition to a concert with the Cal Poly Pomona MIDI Ensemble, of which she was a member on the electric violin from its conception in 2003 until 2012. The group was in need of a unique, “introductory” piece to open the show with. Each member would be introduced on stage, one-by-one, as their instrument entered within the piece. Thus the purpose for Introit’s slow build and layered entrances.
